Dr. Antoine Tohmé

Dr. Antoine Tohmé, Senior Counsel in the litigation team at Obeid & Partners, is a former judge with extensive experience across Lebanon’s judiciary. Over the course of his career, he has served as a member of the First Instance Court in Mount Lebanon (2009–2010), Judge of Urgent Matters in Jdeidet el-Metn (2010–2017), counselor to the Commercial Chamber of the Court of Appeal (2018–2019), and President of the Executive Bureau in Jdeidet el-Metn until 2024.

In addition to his judicial roles, Dr. Tohmé is a professor at La Sagesse University, where he teaches intellectual property law in the Master’s program in Business Law and Digital Law. He has supervised numerous theses on copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and digital commerce law, and has issued several landmark judgments in the fields of copyright and trademark protection.

Dr. Tohmé holds a PhD from Saint Joseph University (USJ), where he earned the highest distinction with congratulations from the jury for his dissertation entitled “La parodie des œuvres littéraires et artistiques comparée à la parodie des marques: Étude comparée droit libanais-droit français-droit anglo-saxon”.

Specializing in Lebanese, French, English, American, and GCC intellectual property laws, Dr. Tohmé is also a member of the Beirut Bar.
